Abstract: Waiting For Tokyo follows four athletes: Chantal Liew, an open-water swimmer; Martina Veloso, a rifle shooter; and Mark and Timothy Lee, twin brothers who compete in springboard diving. All of them are in pursuit of a common goal – qualifying for their first Olympic Games in Tokyo. Amid the pandemic, they are forced to prepare for the biggest competition in their lives in an atmosphere of uncertainty over the status of the Games. At this pivotal moment, they reflect on their Olympic dreams, and the obsession and sacrifice necessary to make it as an athlete in Singapore.
