dc.description.abstract | The suitability of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) films for press sensor monitoring have been studied. Different types of rGO film samples were fabricated to compare the difference in characteristics and performance as pressure sensors. The rGO films were fabricated from graphene oxide (GO) solutions through a modified leavening method to introduce pores into the films. The macrostructures of rGO films were modified to improve the material electrochemical and mechanical performance. Conformations such as wrinkles and fold were introduced to the rGO films to create distortions to increase accessible surface area of films. Pressure test were conducted for individual samples using a standard load. The graph of current against time was plotted for all samples to observe the rGO films response to changes in pressure. Characterisation and analysis of the rGO films were done using Secondary Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) to help in understanding and explaining of the results obtained from the pressure test. The characteristics of the rGO films were compared to the characteristics of piezoresistive pressure sensors to compare the similarities and difference. This allows for leverage on the research done on piezoresistive pressure sensor for rGO films pressure sensors. | en_US |
