Abstract: This paper seeks to investigate whether the two main newspapers in Singapore, The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, differ in their coverage of news pertaining to China. The premise is that any piece of news should be covered in a similar fashion by both newspapers since they are both papers of record. However, the assumption of this study is that Lianhe Zaohao (a Chinese newspaper) will report news on China more favorably than The Straits Times (an English newspaper).
