Abstract: The subject of this thesis is narrowband interference (NBI) suppression in direct sequence spread, spectrum (DSSS) systems. It is expected that additional processing on the received signal can improve the performance of DSSS systems against NBI. In this thesis, we proposed an Eigenstructure-based (ESB) algorithm for NBI suppression. In contrast to the conventional least-mean-square-based (LMS) prediction error filter (PEF), the proposed algorithm is more jam-resistant and exhibits better bit error rate (BER) performance in the presence of strong NBI.
