Abstract: Based on the traffic congestion data provided by the ICA, there are always heavy traffic at both Woodlands and Tuas check points. “For the Friday before Christmas last year, we cleared 475,000 travelers across the land checkpoints – the highest number we have seen in recent years,”, mentioned by the ICA.[3] That was an enormous amount of transport vehicles passed by the check points. With the technologies advancement worldwide, AI Base Road Traffic Transportation System will be in great use in assisting the congestion in the future. Algorithms such as YOLOv3, features matching, Brute Force matching with descriptors etc will be used in this project to further improve on the traffic controls in Singapore. To fully utilize the algorithms mentioned, Jupyter Notebook will be the programming platform for this whole project. AI Based Road Transportation System will encapsulate all the data captured and analyzed when is the peak period for the any congestion ahead. Based on the data collected, the system will then notify the drivers and re-route them to other alternatives. This is to prevent heavy congestion at any point of time. In additionally, the program can also track the speed of the moving vehicles; notify the drivers if he/she exceeded the required speed on the road. A way forward, this project was planned to carry out for air traffic control system if road traffic system is successfully implemented.
