Abstract: In current day manufacturing industry, Non-Destructive test (NDT) plays a significant and crucial role in upholding the standards of the completed products. However, large amount of funding and time are required to be invested into the research and production of NDT equipment. Production of NDT equipment requires extreme precision, resulting in the increase in cost and time for their production. Therefore, there is a need to search for an alternative and cheaper method. One possible alternative is Additive Manufacturing (AM). AM has gained increase popularity in recent years due to the advancement in its development and ability to manufacture complicated designs with flexibility of materials at the user’s requirement in a short time. Many industries have moved their production to incorporate AM as it is able to provide several benefits including little to no material wastage and highly precise final products. In this study, we explore the possibilities of using AM to produce ultrasound angled guides which are commonly used in NDT inspection.
