Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/149113 | Project: | A028 | Abstract: | This project proposes an innovative design and fabrication of a portable stair climbing robot that can assist humans by carrying their loads, such as luggage and suitcases, up and down the stairs. Over the course of this project, the Solidworks program was used extensively in the designing phase while items were purchased off the shelf as well as manufactured in NTU’s Innovation Lab and Manufacturing Process Labs for the manufacturing phase. The remote-controlled prototype was then assembled together and tested. The prototype was able to climb 3 steps but was unable to continue further, being limited by its tracks. The conclusion drawn from the project is that the basic geometry and design of the stair-climber is feasible, and it possesses the ability to climb stairs. The prototype, however, requires further modifications to produce a fully functional stair-climbing prototype that is able to climb higher and more consistently. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/149113 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
