Water ring toss : a descent into childhood frenzy

Abstract

Water Ring Toss is a 2D animated film that aims to capture the emotions surrounding a childhood memory of mine. Curiosity, fascination, frustration, addiction and the hunger for satisfaction — these are the myriad of emotions embedded within my memory of the water ring toss toy. Instead of telling a narrative story with an underlying message, the goal of the film is to capture and recreate the moods mentioned and hopefully connect with viewers via shared nostalgia. In this report, the development process and inspirations behind the film’s concepts are documented and delved further into.
