Abstract: Humanising Beauty is a research project that explores the factors that are controlling the perceptions of beauty in our globalized and Eurocentric world. “Women” and “beauty” seem to intertwine in a way that creates friction in the growth of women from adolescence to adults and self-discovery. There are limited spaces where women are able to talk freely about their struggles in a safe space free of judgement. S.he Collective is a mobile application aimed at celebrating the authenticity of everyday women and being a stepping stone to elevate different areas of themselves such as beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and mental health. The objective of this project is to create a platform where women are able to freely talk about their struggles and problems without the fear of judgement while building a community of like-minded individuals to empower one another as they grace through womanhood, not alone, but as a community.
