Abstract: This project focuses on exploring fast synthesis methodologies of pristine Sb2Si2Te6. The conventional synthesis process is very time-consuming to be incorporated for commercial purposes. Therefore, a faster alternative synthesis process is explored. The pristine Sb2Si2Te6 pellets were fabricated through planetary ball milling, vacuum annealing inside the furnace, and spark plasma sintering (SPS). Then, the thermoelectric (TE) properties of the material were measured by using ULVAC ZEM-3 and Laser Flash Apparatus (LFA). A faster synthesis process was explored by reducing the furnace annealing time and incorporating the solid-state reaction into the previous step, high energy ball milling (HEBM), and the later step, SPS. Moreover, to further improve the service stability of the material, Thermally Induced Flash Synthesis (TIFS) method was explored as well. Finally, recommendations are also given to offer viable solutions for future references.
