新加坡的中国留学生现象 ：南洋理工大学与新加坡国立大学案例研究 = Phenomenon of China students in Singapore : a case study of Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore

Abstract

本论文是对目前在新加坡修读大学课程的中国留学生的一个专题研究。留学生属中国新移民中的“准移民”类型，近几年来在新加坡有着显著的增长趋势。通过对南洋理工大学与新加坡国立大学中国留学生所进行的采访，本文更确切地得知了这些留学生们的中国联系与在地网络关系，及在毕业后的发展意愿。同时，笔者还探讨了这些学生们所希望在新加坡得到的是什么，并发现除了学位外他们还想在新加坡找到工作机会。然而，受访学生中并没有人表示愿意长久地留在新加坡发展。通过对本地大学生所进行的调查，笔者还发现两国学生之间正存在着一种轻微的隔阂问题。This dissertation is a study on China students in two universities in Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore, on their connections and networks with China and in Singapore, and their expectations and aspirations after graduation. This group of students belongs to a growing phenomenon known as the New Chinese Migrants, whose number in Singapore has been rising significantly over the years. The surveys and interview with these China students reveal their intentions upon graduation, and what they hope to achieve in Singapore. The surveys done with Singaporean students have provided some insight on their attitudes to the presence of the China students in their varsities, and have also revealed mild estrangement between the two groups of students.
