Abstract: In this report, we will be looking through the characteristics on multilevel converters and its properties. PLECS, a system tool for system-level simulations of electrical circuits will be used to create the software algorithm. The software algorithm simulation will be used to construct a functional multilevel converter prototype used in smart grid applications.
