Abstract: This final report documents the process of building a monitoring system for arthritis patients. The aim of this project is to monitor the condition of an arthritis patient with the use of flex sensors. This monitoring system will analyze data with the use of previous current and previous data. The patients will also be informed of the results. Furthermore, the results can also be retrieved at any point both locally and remotely by any medical personnel or the patient.

The focus of this project is to monitor the condition of arthritis. Some people with osteoarthritis (OA) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA) may not be able to straighten a finger joint, which can make grasping difficult or putting on gloves downright impossible. In others, an inflamed tendon may cause a finger to feel locked in a bent position, causing pain and reducing function. Hence, it is important to monitor and record the degree of bending that the patient can achieve on periodical basis.13.28 MBAdobe PDFView/Open
