Abstract: With the rapid development of science and technology, the lack of natural resources and environmental pollution have promoted the emergence of electric vehicles. With the continuous improvement of electric vehicle technology, more devices are designed with higher efficiency and additional functions. All current electric vehicles used batteries as storage to store energy. With a good battery management system, energy can be used more efficiently. This can also improve the performance and reliability of the system. The DC/DC buck-boost converter is used in the battery management system which charging and discharging the battery. It works in two modes: buck mode (buck), and boost mode (boost). For the buck mode is charging the battery from a source, another is discharging the battery to provide the energy to the load. Two GaN FET power switching are used in buck-boost converter with the half-bridge configuration to operate buck and boost mode. A control circuit was designed for this project. This report will introduce the creation of the control circuit. Simulations and experiments will be performed to verify the results.
