Abstract: Sickness presenteeism is an emerging issue in organisations as it entails one of the biggest drains on productivity. As such, being excessively present could be even costlier than being absent from work. This study serves to explore the phenomenon of sickness presenteeism in Singapore and its impact on employees’ productivity due to the influence of work-related factors, effects of health conditions and gender differences.
