Abstract: This research project focuses on the fixed income markets in Asia. It aims to educate financial institutions and academia on the development of the fixed income market in Asia and provide valuable insights on the development and growth trends of such markets going forward in today’s dynamic economy. This paper first explores the history of fixed income market and the different factors differentiating the various fixed income instruments. It then discusses the three participants of fixed income market and the relationships between one another in constructing a fixed income market. Lastly, this paper will zoom in on fixed income markets in Asia, providing knowledge on the current markets in Asia and factors that affect their development. In undertaking this applied research project, we wish to contribute positively to the scarce literature that has been written and produced on fixed income market in Asia. This research paper will serve to raise greater awareness about these markets, which can be used as a basis for further research benefiting the financial industry.
