Investigation on the processing-microstructure-property correlation of 3D-printed bronze parts for marine and offshore applications. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/150921 | Project: | P-B039 | Abstract: | Nickel Aluminium Bronze (NAB) are a unique material that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance properties. It is widely used as coatings for corrosion protection in harsh marine environments. Directed Energy Deposition (DED) is a 3D printing technique that melt the materials and deposing them on a workpiece. The objective of this investigation is to study how the printing pattern affect the microstructure of printed parts. The material power used during this investigation are NAB as these materials are suitable for application in offshore and marine industry. Throughout the whole investigation, different printing direction had been conducted and the microstructure of additively manufactured bronze specimens were tested with different method. The results and conclusions allow readers to have a better understanding of the characteristics of 3D-printed metal parts, in particular using DED technology. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/150921 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
