Abstract: This project attempt to use a supercapacitor as a new energy storage device. In order to verify the performance of supercapacitors in a photovoltaic power system, a system simulation model was built using Matlab/Simulink. By comparing charging and discharging speed, charging/discharging power efficiency. The simulation results will help to improve energy storage system service life, meet the high demand for energy density.
