Abstract: The climate change that occurred in the past decade has dramatically transformed the built environment. In addition, risk factors such as seawater and extreme weather have hastened the concrete structure's deterioration. As such, corrosion can occur faster and to a higher degree. This study aimed to analyze the effect of corrosion on reinforced concrete structures, specific effects on corrosion on punching shear on flat slabs. The study was performed by first producing the corroded flat slab. 4 slab was casted in the lab consisted of 3 low reinforcement (ρ = 0.5%) ratio slab and 1 high reinforcement ratio slab ( ρ = 0.9%). The low reinforcement ratio slab had reinforcement detail of 10H13@230 both ways top reinforcement and H10@260 both ways bottom reinforcement. The high reinforcement ratio slab had reinforcement detail of 18H13@118 both ways top reinforcement and H10@260 both ways bottom reinforcement. Next, the slab was corroded by using the accelerated corrosion method. This method was used to hasten the corrosion process of the slab. The corroded slab was placed on the testing bed and loaded to failure, while LVDT was used to record the deflection of the slab. In addition, the crack pattern was recorded to analyze the slab behavior. The study found that corrosion ratio correlated to the decrease of ultimate load and shear stress and change of the crack pattern and deflection progression of the reinforced concrete slab. In addition, failure mode change was also observed as the corrosion ratio increased.
