Abstract: In today’s societies, the increase in demand in touchpads and touchscreens have become significantly important, the reason being it is convenient, fast and efficient. This is an example of a common human-machine interface. With touchpads and touchscreens being so important in our daily life, the idea of implementing touchpads into our daily lives such as fabric tends to come to mind. This study aims to show the possibility of creating a smart fabric that is at the same time, stretchable, tough, effective and safe. It researches on a proof of concept using hand to test for elasticity by different methods of twisting and different ratio of length used by conductive and elastic thread. Studies will also be needed on knitted samples of elastic and conductive thread by different equipment and different ratio of elastic thread.
