Abstract: TYPEFUSED – an Experimental Journey on Typographic Language in which Type has Gone Beyond Aesthetic Value to Embody Symbolism. This journey is inspired by one of the categories of body art – Tattoos. The research explores ideas and experiments with various methods into creating contemporary tattoo types that are influenced by popular tattoo themes. Five typefaces have been created from the research. They essentially embody the characteristics and symbolism of the tattoo images, ranging from Shark, Fairy, Rose, Butterfly to Angel.
