Title: | Fabrication of high-quality transparent ceramic powders with novel co-precipitation method | Authors: | Tan, Shao Yun | Keywords: | Engineering::Materials::Ceramic materials | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Tan, S. Y. (2022). Fabrication of high-quality transparent ceramic powders with novel co-precipitation method. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156142 | Abstract: | High-quality yttria has been successfully synthesised with chloride derived salt solution and ammonium hydrogen carbonate precipitant. The synthesised powder has a near-spherical morphology and an average diameter of 61.5nm. Based on FE-SEM. From FTIR and XRD analysis, synthesised yttria was concluded to be a pure sample. According to FWHM, some particles have small particles attached to it after calcination. But the structure should not have an impact on sintering quality. Current process only achieved a 17% yield which is caused by excessive HCl added when preparing the salt solution. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156142 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
