Abstract: Direct-ink write on single tow (1k) continuous carbon fiber with UV-assisted curing. With the study of the interaction between the acrylic-based photocurable resin and 1k carbon fibers is used to determine the wetting effect and mechanical properties of such composite structure. Implementing the design by modifying the existing three-dimensional (3D) printer arm printhead nozzle to be capable of printing UV curable elastic composite, reinforced with continuous carbon fiber into functional structures.
