Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156587 | Project: | SCSE21-0143 | Abstract: | COVID-19 has had profound impacts on our lives in different ways, with one of them being a high demand for physiotherapists and other healthcare workers during the pandemic. This has resulted in a lack of manpower to guide the elderly in their regular physiotherapy sessions. A desirable solution to the problem would have the elderly receiving the required guidance for their exercises while reducing the workload for physiotherapists. The Elderly Physical Well-Being System is a complementary system to physiotherapy sessions for the elderly to reduce the need for in-person physiotherapy appointments. The system consists of two main components: 1) The application has three user interfaces for the Patient (Elderly), system administrators (SA), and physiotherapists respectively. Each interface is specifically designed to cater to their needs. 2) A Raspberry Pi will be used as the back-end and database server for the application to interface with. Through the application, physiotherapists will be able to track the progression of the elderly while providing them with guidance and encouragement. As supervision during the exercise is not always required, elderly can complete their assigned physiotherapy exercises at their own time using the system, and physiotherapists can check in on the elderly’s submitted progress remotely. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156587 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
