Designing a brain-computer interface platform for attention training. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156607 | Project: | SCSE21-0026 | Abstract: | Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs) have allowed us to study the workings of the human brain and attempt to tackle various problems related to the brain. One such area is the attention of the Human Mind. In this study, we will be looking into a new platform to aid in training the attention span of the regular persons. This platform is a game application designed in Unity Engine and uses the Muse2 device as a BCI and the Tobii Eye Tracker as input method to control the player and complete minor objectives. The application tests the importance of relaxation during Attention Training (AT) by providing two different scenarios, one with relaxation and one without. The report goes into depth of the methods and theories behind the development of the new platform and presents the results of experimentation done in terms of including relaxation into existing training methods and the overall effectiveness of the application as a platform for AT. The experimentation conducted on various subjects displayed a noticeable improvement in timings for the game when relaxation is introduced. The merits and limitations of this game are also discussed in this report. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/156607 | Fulltext Permission: | embargo_restricted_20240421 | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
