Abstract: Dementia is a neurodegenerative condition that results in the loss of cognitive functioning, severely enough to interfere with the patients’ daily life. A person-centered care approach has been implemented globally to help these patients. Person-centered care is essential in delivering high-quality dementia care that involves numerous key factors such as providing individualized care for the patients and fostering a favorable social environment. In this project, the Person-Centered Care (PEAR) system, is created to allow caregivers to focus more on providing better person-centered care for dementia patients. It is an attempt to adopt current technology to help caregivers manage the care center and its patients more practically and efficiently, by serving as a centralized system for effective communication between the different stakeholders which includes the doctor, supervisor, caregiver, game therapist, guardian, and administrator. This system is made up of a web application and a mobile application, each of which offers distinct functionalities depending on the user. The objective of this project as a front-end mobile application developer for the PEAR software system is to continue implementing and improving the existing PEAR mobile application. The mobile application will need to focus on the following areas: consistency, correctness, and quality of existing features, user experience, performance, and adoption of automation tools for testing. The project’s key tasks include Code and User Interface (UI) reviews to correct inconsistencies and bugs discovered in the mobile application and to increase the performance cap of the mobile application. In addition, as the backend team is migrating to a new backend system, the frontend team must integrate the current mobile application with the new Application Programming Interfaces (API) system. Additionally, the mobile application should be tested with automation tools so that testing can be done more efficiently without any human intervention, effectively increasing test coverage and accuracy. To go along with the code modifications, extensive documentation and test cases should be created. The resulting final product is to deliver an enhanced and functional PEAR mobile application equipped with automation tools for testing.
