Fundamental, technical and news analysis on healthcare stocks in SGX

Abstract

There have always been several analysts, strategists and fund managers that are hired to beat the financial market. A fund manager requires the skillsets of both analysts and strategist which involves the usage of fundamental, technical and news analysis. The objective of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the different analytical tools that are readily available. A fundamental study into both quantitative and qualitative will give an understanding of how the current market will affect the stock prices. Thereafter, usage of technical indicator will allow us to understand the returns of the stock prices base on the past data. The study shows the importance of using fundamental analysis to identify quality companies, technical analysis for entry and exit trades, and news analysis to understand how effective news can affect the stock prices so that one can capitalize for the profits.
