Abstract: In this project, modeling of fibre grating devices will be attempted. It begin with resolving the effective refractive index of the LP01 core mode and different cladding modes, followed by calculating the mode electric and magnetic fields to determine the strength of coupling for core mode as well as between core mode and different cladding modes. Simple transmission matrix method or coupling mode analysis could be employed to analyze the propagation behaviour of FBG using MATLAB tool.
