Abstract: A voltage regulator is used to provide a consistent desired output voltage, which is now necessary for our daily lives. With the growth of technology and the increasing complexity of circuit designs, it has become clear that a voltage regulator is an essential component for regulating the output voltage so that no other electronic components or devices are damaged or overheated. This report shows the literature reviews, results and learning process throughout the duration of the final year project. The learning experience includes the design and implementation of selected types of voltage regulators for power supply. This project focuses on the research of various types of voltage regulators, software simulation, circuit implementation on breadboard and comparison of the results obtained from theoretical calculations, software and breadboard. Linear voltage regulators such as Zener shunt, transistor shunt, transistor series and fixed output voltage regulators are selected and focused on in this report. The software simulator used to design and simulate the selected voltage regulator circuits in Multisim. After the simulation is done, the circuit will be transferred to the breadboard. Finally, an analysis of the results obtained from software simulation and breadboard will be done.
