Title: | Mathematical modelling of factory fire | Authors: | Tan, Han Yuan | Keywords: | Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Tan, H. Y. (2022). Mathematical modelling of factory fire. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/157496 | Project: | B006 | Abstract: | This report conducts a case study of factory fires and builds a simple one-dimensional mathematical model for investigating factors leading to spontaneous ignition in a pile of sawdust on top of a hot press. The theory of heat conduction will be studied in this report and will be used in the implementation of the model. The model solution will be explored to determine the causes or circumstances that will lead to the ignition of the sawdust. MATLAB will be used to design and solve the one-dimensional mathematical model. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/157496 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
