Abstract: Power equipment failure analysis is critical for maintaining reliable power supply for everyone. Predicting the lifetimes of power equipment allow the making of better-informed preventive maintenance of the distribution network. There are many methodologies being employed to that end. Survival analysis is a popular statistical approach in lifetime analysis which has found many applications in engineering. This project explores the use of survival analysis and power equipment failure data for modelling and prediction of transformer lifetime patterns. Finally, the project employs a modern suite of software development tools to develop an intuitive and simple to use application for survival analysis and modelling.
