Abstract: Due to the need to make lightweight components in the aerospace and automobile industries, Aluminum has been increasingly popular in recent years. Many studies have been conducted in order to gain a better knowledge of the structural performance of Aluminum. In this paper, the mechanical behavior of an Aluminum Alloy under high temperature has been studied. Results were processed accordingly and stress-strain curve, log stress-log strain and strain to failure-homologous temperature graph were produced. Discussions on the results were properly documented. The Compressive Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) was used for all tests and investigations. Effects on defects within specimens were also being looked into.
