dc.description.abstractIn recent times, there has been a growing trend towards using technology to simplify and automate our day to day lives. One potential use for smart devices is to improve the conventional light switch. This project will aim to explore methods to make a conventional light switch more advanced by adding features such as motion detection, power usage monitoring, and advanced lighting control to reduce strain on the eyes when turning the lights on after waking up. This report will introduce the features that were implemented, and will go into detail on the design, fabrication, and coding process and strategies taken to build the prototype light switch. Concepts such as PCB design and fabrication, and Arduino programming will be discussed.en_US
