重塑神话: 神女降临 = Rewrite Chinese traditional myths: a rectified history for her

Abstract

神女降临 is an experimental design campaign that aims to challenge people’s stereotypes about goddesses in Chinese Mythology, in the hope to promote gender quality in the Chinese-speaking community. A series of re-imagined portraits of goddesses will be created based on historical and archaeological research, and to challenge the traditionally perceived associations that are attached to the goddesses. Primary research, interviews and working process will be documented in the form of publication for further dissemination among larger audiences. Targeting young adults who are native Chinese speakers, this project is essentially a research project on feminism through the lens of Chinese mythology, hence bridging the Chinese traditional culture and contemporary feminism ideology.
