Abstract: Many Singaporeans are unaware of the design scene and the importance of visual communicators. Unsurprisingly, Singapore lacks engaging conversations about being a visual communicator and what it means to break out of the misconception of design in the local community. Pokkai Designer is a platform that will explore and collect inputs through a series of Singaporean narratives and develop insights to uplift and spread positivity while safeguarding the wellbeing of the local design community. With the help of technology, the perception of local design will improve how Singaporeans receive and understand information—also questioning whether the same data transmitted from the past to the present will have the same weight to audiences. Hence, with information interpreted differently by people, this research aims to bring designers together to form a community - supporting and growing with one another.
