Abstract: Water is a necessity in our everyday lives. Due to the limited amount of consumable water, water treatment technologies such as filtration systems has been on the rise. With this system we are able to process water into usable water. This technology poses a major challenge which is membrane fouling which in turn causes more issues like replacement of the filtration membranes. Electroanalytical methods such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) has been researched to help with detection of such fouling. However, delamination issues have been noticed on electrodes used for EIS when placed in corrosive and high crossflow environmental conditions. This research is to test for ink compositions and surface treatment conditions for fabricating the most optimal adhesion strength electrode for EIS. It was found that adhesion strength of film to substrate was mainly attributed to surface treatment done on the substrate though ink composition does play a factor in improving adhesion properties as well. This finding is believed to provide valuable insights into developing electrode with better adhesion for the application of EIS.
