Title: | Multipurpose virtual reality platform for marine robotics (part II) | Authors: | Wu, Po Yi | Keywords: | Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Wu, P. Y. (2022). Multipurpose virtual reality platform for marine robotics (part II). Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/159109 | Project: | A011 | Abstract: | Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) has brought the attention of many people in recent year due to its increasing capability and application in vast areas. For example, India had deployed its first ROV to the ocean seabed for exploration and observation of mineral wealth and the use of the ROV in searching for MH370. In this report, an extensive study will focus on the simulation of ROV under ocean using Unity 3D with the assistance of Oculus Rift, Leap Motion, and virtual and physical joysticks. The program aims to train the new operators of the collaborated company in a virtual reality environment to well-prepared them for the actual missions. The challenges and suggestions for future work are also listed in this report. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/159109 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | embargo_restricted_20240530 | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
