Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/162550||Abstract:||TiO2 nanoparticles are widely used in sunscreens due to their excellent ultraviolet (UV) attenuation property which protects the skin by reducing the amount of UV radiation absorbed. The interactions between TiO2 nanoparticles and proteins in the cell culture medium leads to the formation of the protein corona. The interactions between TiO2 nanoparticles and the synthetic chemical compounds in the sunscreen lotion leads to the formation of the sunscreen corona. The resultant corona determines the interactions between cells and the TiO2 nanoparticles, influencing the biological fate of the cells. The amount and composition of the corona formed for different commercial and pristine TiO2 nanoparticles is not well studied. Hence, in this study, different characterization methods such as DLS, TGA, UV-Vis and FTIR are used to better understand the properties of the corona on different TiO2 nanoparticles.||URI:||https://hdl.handle.net/10356/162550||Fulltext Permission:||embargo_restricted_20231201||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
