dc.description.abstractThis project involved the design and implementation of a real-time mobile application that makes use of the rear camera of a smartphone to provide appropriate sounds to help guide and warn a blind user during dangerous situations. Real-time computer vision algorithms were created to process the live video streams received from the smartphone camera. Features from the live video streams were then extracted and processed to determine if they are dangerous obstacles and sound appropriate audio cues to the user.en_US
