Title: | Biometric-based e-security solution for challenging cyber world | Authors: | Erwan Bin Zubir | Keywords: | Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Erwan Bin Zubir (2022). Biometric-based e-security solution for challenging cyber world. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/163421 | Project: | P3003-211 | Abstract: | Technology has come a long way in which people in this digital age are now more dependent on. With the outbreak of Covid-19, the use of technology has become the essential of the living lifestyle. During this time, policies such as lockdowns and social distancing measures has brought a significant increase in the usage of online applications and services as many had to rely on online shopping, working from home, virtual meetings, and other online activities [1]. Despite the conveniences of using online applications and services, the number of cyber-attacks is on the rise too and many have been affected by these attacks. Hence, the need to use multimodal biometric for authentication is pivotal as it adds an additional layer of security over the conventional way of using numbering in password or a unimodal biometric which provides only a single layer of protection via biometric data for authenticating an online application and services. Multimodal biometric authentication will be able to provide and enhance the level of protection for online services and applications. In the early stage of this project, the author will investigate and analyse various types of biometric technologies available. Thereafter, the best technique of biometric will be chosen and used as a testing bed for the project. Python language software will be the assistant to the implementation of the algorithms. Hence, with the integration of the software and hardware build of the biometric system. The author will create a simple prototype authentication application. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/163421 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
