Abstract: The effect of incorporation of nickel particles into the resin is evaluated in terms of the changes in mechanical properties of the samples printed by Digital Light Processing (DLP). While varying the amounts of nickel acrylate added, a cure depth test was performed to first test the curability and printability; data of the cure depth were plotted against the cure energy using the Jacobs’ working equation. Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) was used to investigate the effect of nickel on the mechanical properties including the glass transition temperature (Tg), strain to failure, and stress relaxation. The experimental results showed that with the addition of nickel acrylate onto the resin the cure depth decreased but there were no noticeable printing defects. The results of the strain ramp and stress relaxation tests indicate that with increasing amounts of nickel added into the resin, the Tg decreases to some extent but the failure strain and recovered strain increase.
