Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Ong, W. X. (2022). Static tensile test with imperfect dimension. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/163492 | Project: | B457 | Abstract: | This report details the static tensile test of a said material, Aluminium 6061-T6, with imperfect dimension. The imperfect dimension discussed in this report is scratches. All test procedures including specimen sizing were referred from ASTM E8. Following previous projects, the specimen was fabricated to size through Computer Numerical Control (CNC) wire cutting for it produces smooth finishing and reduces complications to material property during the cutting process. Static tensile test is the most used destructive test. The test enables to derive the mechanical properties of the said material (Yield Strength, Ultimate Tensile Strength, Strain and Young’s Modulus). The report could be referred to for future students doing similar project on static tensile test or with materials with imperfect dimension. Additional recommendations and learning points would be listed to aid future students’ work. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/163492 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
