Abstract: 64 islands. Countless stories. ‘PULAU’ is a 17-minute documentary that revisits stories of the past from three descendants of the Orang Pulau—or Island People—from Pulau Sudong, Pulau Tekong and Pulau Ubin. Decades have passed since the Orang Pulau have moved from their original islands to the mainland, to make way for Singapore’s national urban development. With the last batch of original Orang Pulau greying, what does the future hold for this group of indigenous people of Singapore?
