Abstract: This study examines the changing dynamics of doctor-patient communication with the prevalent use of online health information by patients in recent years. This research seeks to uncover the opinions of doctors on patients' use of the Internet to locate health information and patients' perceptions on the ways online health information affect their communication, and consequently their assessment of the doctors. In-depth interviews were conducted with five doctors and five patients on their opinions, values, recollections, experiences and feelings, as well as how they interpret, use and relate to online health information.
