E-waste has become a major environmental issue due to the fast-paced growth of technology and the decreasing lifespan of electronic devices, resulting in health and environmental concerns. In 2019, the world produced 53.6 million metric tons of e-waste, which is expected to reach 74 million metric tons by 2030. Developed countries such as the US and Europe have seen a significant increase in e-waste generation, while developing countries like China and India are also experiencing a surge due to high demand for electronic devices and inadequate e-waste management systems. Improper management of e-waste can lead to hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium leaching into the environment and posing a risk to human health. To address this problem, there is a pressing need to establish effective recycling and reduction measures for e-waste. Therefore, there is a strong need to have a system in place to recycle and reduce the e-waste generated.en_US
