Abstract: The enrichment of beneficial bacteria (probiotics) in the fish gut has been shown to improve fish's digestive system and health. The use of probiotics can enable us to eliminate pathogenic infections. Probiotics are made up of complex carbohydrate molecules that the fish cannot directly digest. It encourages the growth of a healthy intestinal microbiome and beneficial bacterial species, which can hinder the growth of pathogenic and harmful bacteria. In order to introduce probiotics into the fish, we have to first look at the production of probiotics and the effectiveness of the probiotics after the different types of production. In order to develop probiotics that are effective, the project hopes to mimic different conditions that the probiotics might encounter (pH, temperature, duration) and test the survivability of the probiotics.
