Abstract: Singapore’s tourism industry is well positioned to outperform its competition in the Asia-Pacific region. A time consuming and often difficult task for tourists arriving in Singapore is to plan and schedule an itinerary based on their interests and preferences. This is further complicated by real-world constraints such as travel time between attractions, opening hours of different attractions, budget and time spent at each attraction. Furthermore, for travelers travelling in groups, the preference of everyone must be considered. This report discusses in detail, TraveLink, an AI-Driven Travel Itinerary Mobile Application that successfully considers the above constraints while generating itineraries for travelers in Singapore. TraveLink encompasses an Authentication System that verifies the user’s identity, a Peer Preference System that links the preferences of various users to be considered for itinerary generation, a modified greedy algorithm used for itinerary generation, and a Feedback Mechanism that implicitly improves the itinerary generation of future iterations. The effectiveness of TraveLink was tested through an extensive user study where its average overall effectiveness was rated as 89.9%. This is testament of TraveLink’s ability to solve the problems of travelers in Singapore.
