dc.description.abstractThe key aim of the project is to develop a face recognition registration system to facilitate the attendance taking of lab sessions. The demand for face recognition attendance systems has increased significantly in this digital age. However, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) still uses the traditional method of pen-and-paper for attendance taking. The two main issues with this method are inefficiency and inaccuracy. This application aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the current attendance taking process for both students and lab assistants. Students should be able to record their attendance for a lab session with the face recognition system. On the other hand, the system increases the efficiency of managing student attendance with this system for lab assistants.en_US
