Abstract: The impedance of an induction motor can be utilised in many ways, including the EMI filter design, faults diagnosis, and health status monitoring. One straightforward and simple way to measure impedance is to use an impedance analyser along with a test fixture. In this project, a customised test fixture is proposed to act as an interconnection between the induction motor and the impedance analyser. By modelling the test fixture based on the boundary element method, an equivalent circuit can be constructed, and the parasitic effects can be de-embedded. Through experimentation, the effectiveness of the proposed test fixture can be quantified, and the impedance of the induction motor can be measured up to 10MHz.
