Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/167610 | Project: | C146 | Abstract: | Vibratory polishing trough experiments are carried out to investigate the effects of frequency and loads on the kinematics of Vibratory Polishing trough (EVT-130 and EVT-800), along with analyzing the feasibility of a new scale factor using geometric similarity for prediction of a trough’s amplitude response and displacement, for the purpose of process monitoring in future research. Prior to the experiments, comprehensive literature reviews were carried out to explain the concept of vibratory polishing and define the scale factor formula used to predict responses of a prototype to vibrations through experimentation of a model. This is followed by a list of equipment and software used for these experiments, including the setup procedures. An in-depth analysis is visually carried out to compare changes in in amplitude response and displacement for each EVT-130 and EVT-800 trough under different frequencies and loads.
